recall of dead bolt and door locks

fastec industrial. com has a recall on door and dead bolt locks on certain models of forest river rvs, log on to the site and check to see if your unit is in the recall, your keys might have a number stamped on the key this is the code to check, if not there is a video that shows how to remove the back side of the lock to get the code number, i have a 2010 rockwood with double doors and the company replaced the four locks, good luck

I went thru this a couple of years ago with the lite, they replaced both tumbler sets.

They sent a master key to remove the tumblers and insert the new ones.

I then sent back on their dime the key and tumblers.

As I recall some people were getting locked in their units.

Is this what you did?

I see, after I installed the new tumblers I used some lock graphite in all of the locks.

I was one of them locked in whole hubby was locked out. We had the kit on the way but it didn't arrive quite soon enough. Had to request a second kit as the first one locked us out again. Fortunately we had learned how to break in by that time.

Bummer, I did the swap the day the tumblers arrived which was the same day I winterized the first year so it worked well on my end.

No issues with the new ones and I graphite them once a year which seems to be enough.

I'm currently having these issues with my 2014 Solera's side door. It locks me out at random. Sometimes it's fine, but but once in a while it jams on me and I have to enter thru the cab.

Our Georgetown is doing the same thing. Two weeks ago, I asked the kids if they had seen Mom. Your imagination can fill in the rest. I found the main two mounting screws on the door were loose. After tightening, it was fine, but it was just for a few days before it started happening again. I'll call Fastec as soon as we get home Tuesday. This is just another example why this Forum is so great!

My two mounting screws were loose also. I tightened them too and then got locked out a few days later. Very frustrating. Next step; I need to take it in for service after Labor Day when the service apptmts. open up more quickly.

over 7,000,000 units were recalled. My new to us trailer had to have the rear dead bolt drilled out to remove. the company sent me out 2 sets of cylinders and 4 keys along withthe blue removal key.
Blue key had toe be returned as it is illegal to possess that key.

it permits anyone the ability to swap out entry and deadbolt keys if unlocked on a unit and the ability to replace your own.

Received my replacements a week ago, and it was a breeze to change them as long as you followed the instructions closely.
My originals didn't stick too much, but the new ones definitely operate easier.

A friends young 18 month old has managed to get himself locked inside their RV due to this lock issue, and the trailer had to be broken into both times. Upon inspecting their FIC door latch parts, not only has the cylinder failed, but the deadbolt linkage has sheared off the end of the lock cylinder housing.
