For those of you that have done the external cooling fans mod, at what outside temp do you turn the fans off? I am getting ready to add the fans and I think I am going to add a thermostat to turn the fans off if the outside temp drops. I just don't have a good feel where to set it.

I have yet to use mine a full year yet but when temps reach into the 80's and humidity starts creeping up I will be turning mine on .
I think leaving them on during all camping trips would be fine .
I would place a t/stat at the top of the refrigerators' condenser (or a thermal switch screwed to the fin) so the fan turns on when the unit needs the air flow, and off when the refrigerator is satisfied. lets camp
Thanks for the feedback. I remember reading somewhere that these refers were not designed to work under too cool conditions on the condenser. That is why my question was asked about minimum outside temp. I don't think you would want to force cool at say 32 deg or something. Just guessing here.

The fans are controlled by condenser temp, when the boiler is operating and temp reaches (x) degrees. I note when the ambient is above about 80F the fans will cycle with the box thermostat. You're right, the condenser can sub cool so using the 75-80 principle you'll be fine.
