Regular light bulbs to LED

Hi fellow campers. I have a 2016 377RL Heritage Glenn 5ER. I want to know if I can change the regular lights to LED lights. Better lights and less battery usage for sure. I am assuming I can take a bulb out and take it to a Batteries and Bulb store and they could hook me up. Has anyone done this conversion before?

Go for it! More light, less current. Here is the URL for one supplier: http://www.oznium.com/. I bought some for my Nissan NV2500 HD van. zuhnc

You can change them easily. One word of caution, some of the cheap Ebay LEDs use very low quality components that will generate RF noise and make using the TV or radio impossible when the light is on. SuperbriteLEDS is a good source.

Very easy upgrade. What is your current bulb type? I swapped out all the 921 bulbs in my Coleman 16FBS for LED and it made a huge difference in battery consumption. I bought mine on Amazon, IIRC I did the whole trailer for under $30.

Swapped ours out with led bulbs from landscape lighting section at Lowes, way brighter, no heat & super low watt.

Replaced all my hot 921's with LED's. The main overheads in the living room/ kitchen I used lights from M4 (M4LED.com) much better quality then the ones on eBay or Amazon, but much more expensive ~$10 each. That being said, I am using the less expensive LED's in the lights that are used infrequently. With the less expensive lights you will get ones that fail and flicker, very annoying. Need extras to replace those for sure. LED's are bright, low heat, and generally last a long time. Certainly worth changing them out, especially if you boondock and need to save battery life.

+ at least 10 on that. They have a really easy to use bulb conversion chart online, good pricing and an excellent return policy (I know), I ordered the wrong bulbs (found out when they came they would not fit), gave them a call and they replaced them before I even sent the wrong ones back plus they provided me with a no cost shipping label..

That is excellent service in my view.

I recommend them.

Best LED's you can buy are CREE but also expensive. I'm going to change my headlights to LED next.

Check out M4products.com. That is where I bought all my led's from. Replaced all interior and exterior lights with led's. I used the "bright white" led's.

I found the bright white a little too blue, switched to the 3200 degree kelvin bulbs, nice warm glow.

The replacement is easy but you may want to do a little research about LED's first. Understand the difference in color (warm, cool, bright), the lumens (brightness) and number of LED's on the bulb. Match the replacement bulb model with the one you take out, there are several different styles of socket receptacles. Also understand that most LED's do have polarity and if you have bulbs that are wedge base (T-5 or T-10) and they do not light when you plug them in just turn them 180 degrees and reinsert. For bayonet base bulbs it is not an issue, they only go in one way. As far as where to buy them, I have had very good luck with purchases on EBAY, just shop around because the same bulb may greatly vary in price, don't be afraid of Chinese products because most LED's are made in China anyway. Measure the bulb you remove for a reference.

I had all LED interior lights when I bought my TT but the outside lights were filament. If you replace marker (clearance) lights make sure you don't get any that are too long and won't fit under the light lens cover, check the allowable room for the replacement bulb.

I replaced all the lights in my camper with these... They're comparable to the M4 Products 921-24-5050-WW, but at about half the cost. I went with the 24-5050 leds for light output and the 3000-3500K warm light. I don't like the blueish/white light. They are rated for 11 - 30v input so they can handle the voltage fluctuations we get in our campers especially without hookups.

We've been very happy so far.

what BooBoo23 says. Especially order 1 each for each brightness (lumens) and light shade (warm, soft, daylight) or check with somebody that already changed over. Some people really like one over the other or change them all out and decide that do not like the light shade or brightness. Especially check with wife, will save you some money cause as usual in home decor she might not like what you do

M4 have great products that last. Beware of the cheap flea market variety. You'll find these are not as uniform in colour and some of these get hot!

Regular Light Bulbs to LED

No problem on the conversion. I have LEDs in the fixtures that I tend to leave on a lot. LEDs are available at auto parts stores and Camping World.

We have always changed our regular lights to LEDs. They work great and draw next to no power. We even installed push on /off ones in some of the cabinets and the closet. Even those on batteries can easily last a season.

Would like to change out the tail light system on the back of our 2014 - 2500TS Sun Seeker but to date cannot seem to find a fixture that will fit right over the place of the original ones Still looking.

They're definitely better, but choices of hue and brightness can get complicated.. Hard to know what your preference will be until you see them in the RV. I tried some cheapies from EBAY, and 50% didn't last more than a few months. Bite the bullet and get good ones!

I replaced all of the interior fixtures with LEDs. Best investment I've done with my trailer.
