Relocating battery

I am looking to upgrade my battery to two golf cart's. However, I can't handle the additional tongue weight, so I was considering relocating the batteries to either under my rear bunks or on the floor of the pantry. I understand that the batteries need to be vented so I was going to have the batteries located inside a sealed battery box vented to the outside. I know the vent needs to vent up due to the gases rising. My questions are do I need a lower intake vent to bring fresh air into the box and is it difficult to relocate the batteries. I have little experience with trailer modifications. Does any see any issues with relocating the batteries that I may be missing?

With your other towing issues and not ever towing this new unit yet I believe you should Wait until you have Towed it before making Big changes to major items that Might NOT be needed! Youroo!!

If you decide to put the batteries in look at AGM batteries, I know they cost about twice as much but they don't need to be vented

X2 with youroo If you haven't camped or towed this unit yet changing out batteries seems a little premature. The golf cart battery thing you read about on here sounds good and they do give you more amp hours however unless you are doing some serious dry camping or running a big inverter for equipment save your money and headaches and stick with the stock 12V setup until you have used the trailer enough to actually know what you need. this is jus my opinion

If this is a trailer and not 5th wheel, the weight distribution hitch will distribute the tongue weight forward and level your tow vehicle. Why do you say you can't handle the tongue weight?

The extra battery on the front will only increase weight 60 lbs or so , put three cases of beer in rear of trailer and balance it out ! Moving the batts will require moving incoming and outgoing wiring and open a can of worms that is not necessary .

the extra beer in the back - that is really funny! I am a newbie and it has been about a month so just for fun I opened the battery box and found that the battery was surrounded by water. I called the salesman and he said that happens to most battery boxes. So I mentioned that maybe they could drill a hole in the bottom of the plastic battery box and he said go for it.... I learn something new about my trailer every day.
