Remote solenoid for door latch

Has anyone attempted to add a remote to the deadbolt lock on the door? I just purchased a small push/pull 12v solenoid and was going to mount it to the deadbolt and then wire in a remote to the solenoid. Big problem will be to get a 12v wire up the wall and into the door.
