Smart Tiles

We used the smart tiles in our remodel of our Coachman last year. They are wonderful!
You can order them directly. They are great to work with.
And if you aren't sure of the color, you an order samples for a small charge.
I know yours will look great when you're done!!

It's a beautiful day here in North Missouri, so I just went out and checked on the remaining stickee tiles behind our vanity. As suspected, they were curling off the wall; I took them off. Heading to Lowe's to see what they have and how much it will cost.

I hope that I did not jinx myself because we never had a big boiling pot on the back corner burner! Make sure you buy at least three extra sheet for mistakes and waste.

LOL Thurman, I just noticed my Amazon shopping basket has a bunch of waxing and buffing items for my DH ....I better not complain....I'll let him do the waxing and I'll do the tile. Our walk through is scheduled for next Tuesday!

I noticed that WayFair has a bunch of Smart tiles. Some are on sale for $3.95

My wife looked at this thread and got the idea to do the kitchen backsplash in the house as well, so now I have a really big job... Thanks....

We went to Menards and looked. They have self stick 12 x 12 (equavelent) sheets in real glass (have to cut with a glass cutter.)..and thats what she wants... The tile, not the glass cutter.

It's gonna take longer than I expected now.... After 32 years of marital bliss, I never argue with my wife. Besides, I cannot cook for beans.

Nope. Not one. I covered the "tile" that was there....wall paper with them. Didn't look cheap anymore.

I looked into Smart Tiles a couple of years ago. At that time, I was able to order small samples of several colors for $1 each. I couldn't find the tiles at my local Lowes or Home Depot, so the samples were really nice to have before ordering what I needed. We bought another RV, so I never did do this project, but may in our current trailer.

Honestly, I don't know. Didn't weigh them. They have some 'heft' but nowhere near the individual grout in tiles. They look fantastic actually. Really caught my wife's eye on the shelf at Menards...

I see them coming home in the very near future...unfortunately.....

I like them because they aren't plastic. I'd worry about plastic not only in the RV, but around the stove in the kitchen in the house.

I looked at the metal ones too (Menards has those as well) but the glass self stick ones look light years better.,

Whatever pattern / color she decides on will go in the camper and the house kitchen as well.

I read the instructions while she was looking at them (you know how women are, or at least you should know...) and if there are any ladies on this thread, that isn't meant as an insult btw... I had time to read the fine print while the wife was looking......

I plainly states to be sure the surface is clean, free of any oil or grease and if the surface is textured in any way, it needs to me smoothed and all dust removed and not to apply in temperatures of less than 60 degrees (f). It went on to say that tiles can be cut with an ordinary glass cutter using the score and snap method.

That pretty much cancels out doing the camper until spring. I keep mine in the barn and it's cold in there (and there is snow on the ground last time I looked).

Thanks Sidecarflip. My wife always says to me, What do you think when shopping for just about everything. So I just look at her "like the deer in the headlight look" [emoji15]
