Has anyone ever replaced the carpet in the living area with tile or flooring, we would like to.

The floor on most rigs does flex a little when in motion so I would not recommend this. If you are talking about ceramic tiles, you will eventually see cracks in the grout lines then tiles lifting after a few trips. If you want something that has a better tile look then vinyl flooring, look for laminate flooring that has tile "images" instead of the typical wood plank images that you see on most laminate flooring.

A tile floor in a camper would be like twisting a giant ice tray, popping tiles as the trailer flexes going over bumps.

Depending on your location be sure to ask whoever you deal with about the flexibility of the materials due to weather changes. Remember most flooring is used in a conditioned space in a home. In a RV when in storage for the winter the temps can be brutal. Hate to see you do all that work and come spring time have a floor that split from the cold.

I hate the carpeting, especially next to the bed. I'd just like to rip this portion out and go with laminate. We'd leave the carpet on the side of the "nightstands" for now. It can't be that expensive to switch up this little bit of carpeting. But I'm thinking it would be a major PITA working in this small space!
