replacing carpet in 2304s

Very disappointed in shabby carpet that came with trailer. Would like to pull up the piece on main floor and expose lino and go without carpet, but replace carpet in dinette area. Is it possible to cut around main floor carpet and leave bare? As far as I can determine it appears as though the slide should not be affected. When replacing dinette carpet, will include an overlap similar to what is there now. The only thing that will be missing will be the main floor carpet. What do all of you gurus think? Is this doable?

Have encountered the problem of replacing carpet in RV with slide in past and it can be challenging. Had tech in to help and he was amazed to find that the entire structure in the slide comprising seats and storage has an aluminum frame. Everything comes out by removing a few screws after you remove the upholstery. Voila! You have access to the entire carpet area. It just rips out, install new carpet and replace seating. The tech had never worked on a Rockwood ultra lite and was duly impressed, as was I. Next time, Gawd Forbid, I can do it myself.
