Res fridge sizing

Question.

My rig is in the city, at the dealer and I found a res fridge for sale locally. I cannot measure, but how does on get the fridge in the rv.

Through the front door?
How wide is the front door?
Window?

Probably need to pull the main slide out.
I don't see a point to switching unless your other refer goes out.

If your wanting to run more on solar power what benefit would you gain? And if only keeping the camper a short time, why would you want a residential refer?

Long story. The DW started reading some stories about propane fridges catching fire....

So. Here I am.

Also. I'm not a fan of that temp probe slider pos.

My $20k crossroads had a better fridge. Actual buttons on the top for temp.

My solar and magnum hybrid project has more to do with the campgrounds we stay at.

No 50A at any of them.
I have dual ac, dual fridges, dual microwave. Etc.

The hybrid part will help with the 30A only part.
The solar is only for the late seasons when the cg turns off power and water, but camping is free.

That, and I'm a little off the wall.

Hmmm. Never heard of any actual cases of this.....lots of speculation. Id worry more about something in your vehicle failing and causing an injury. Like takana air bags or Chrysler airbag sensors etc.

I never bothered to look it up.

But, it would be nice to have a larger fridge.

I know what features a 36 has....I've had one for the past 2 seasons and spent 27 weekends or extended weekends in it this year! Getting rid of the propane refer system will just add more to your 120v electric dependency. And late season wouldnt require ac and doubt you would be able run micros without 120 either.

I couldn't care less. Just sounds like a lot of trouble for little to no gain.
And a complete kitchen remodel would have to be done to accommodate.

I have seen entry doors that were 30", others were 32". I only measured a few.

Check the specs on the res. ref. for the size with the doors and hinges removed.

Yea. It might be more work than it's worth.

I'll give it the summer, then decide.

Is there something I can do with that temp sensor?

Can a better board be added, temp controls on the outside?

I dont know. We keep a thermometer in there to watch temps. I haven't had any issues, but ours stays plugged in and turned on from march till mid-late November. I think some have added fans to the back of the refer to aid in cooling. I think that switching one off And on all the time would make it harder to maintain temps consistently where as ours is on all the time.

I have more issues with the outside one getting cold enough in our 90-100° temps and the fact that we leave the outside kitchen door open all weekend long unless it rains.

I figure the quarter million for a DX3 is probably a pipe dream. ( DW words)

I'll stick with this for a few years. Can't really grow out of it.

Oh come on now, thats chump change!
At 4.99% for 15 years that's only $1,975.68 a month or 20 years its $1,648.51 a month US dollars.
I think on some coaches they will go longer. (That's 0 down for the $250k)
You could always look at builders. I was looking at a big Fleetwood coach a couple weeks ago, but disapeared from the auction site....i was told it probably went to another insurance pool cause the pre bids weren't high enough.
