Roo Bunk fans

As we almost exclusively boondock, 12v power savings is high on the priority list. I have done all the LED light stuff, inside and out, dual batteries, Espar D4 airtronic heater. One thing that always bugged me was the bunk fans. I didn't like how loud they were, and I was never sure of their power consumption, but I knew they could be better. (Warning, this may be a little low tech for some of you) So I split them open, removed the fan motor, "modified" housing and installed a low amp draw brushless type fan. I compared the two, the original motor would draw 1.1amps, the new, brushless type, 0.3amps. Plus they were quieter all while moving a similar amount of air.
While I was at it, I finally added a fan to the backside of the fridge to move a little more air over the coils to, hopefully, help cool the inside of the fridge better in hot days. I wired it into the gas valve so the fan would only run when needed. Happy (for) now!

I was surprised, those little fans move a lot of air on high speed, quite similar to the originals in fact. Wife and I don't like a lot of air movement when we sleep any how, but more importantly, to me at least, quieter and less power consumption.
