RV Entry Steps Carpet
I am hearing that folks with 3 fold steps can't use the Ruggids RV Step Carpet. Anyone own these or know of trouble folding up your steps after installation???
Any help is appreciated!

I don't remember the brand I bought, but I think I got my carpet set at Camping World and they were easy to install using the spring hooks to secure them underneath after wrapping them around the steps. No problem using or folding the steps.
Happy camping!

X 2. They help the 17 y/o dog get down the stairs but they are too steep for him to go up. He has no trouble going up the 3 steps to bed though.

Our toy hauler has the 3 step design and I have them carpeted and there are no clearance issues when holding them up or unfolding them out.

Our third step will not fold with carpet on it. So it doesn't get any!

Our dog would not climb up the 3steps. I added carpet to block the view looking straight in. Dog now scampers right up. Perhaps it has to do with the dog looking straight into the steps and seeing air and freaking it out?

The outside steps are too steep for him to climb. He would rather do it himself. He takes the steps to the bedroom 1 at a time and slow but lets you know he does not want help there. Before the carpet he would not go down either. The vet said the pads on his paws are sensitive. Unlike steps on previous units these have a raised area around drain areas.

bought remnant piece of outdoor carpet from Home depot.
used zip ties to fasten. looks great and is very durable. dog does ok.
on my 3 steps, the bottom step is farther from ground. might look into seeing if I can add another

Tight clearance on lower step
On our 2015 29RLS Wildcat the lower step has very tight clearance as it folds up to close. Being a tightwad I Chose to make mine out of outdoor carpet from Home Depot and zip tie them on. The second step pad wants to curl a bit on the front edge as the lower passes.

I would get some outdoor construction adhesive and glue it down.

Easy and cheap fix. Go to an Ollie's or similar place that sells square foot outdoor carpet panels with sticky back ($.79), cut them in half and you have 2 step covers. Can easily be replaced. I bought extra but haven't needed to replace yet in over a year. Got that info from this forum

We've got the carpet, held on by the springs and steps work well. There are 2 styles, a straight design and one that is curved. Our steps are curved, so we use the curved style and it works well. We have them on both our sets of stairs.

Rhody- the clearance for the third step on mine to fold onto the second was too small. I did as many others did here and pick up patio carpet from HD and a large grommet kit and built my own. I like Oldcoot's way of the self sticking carpet- just always weary of how that adhesive holds up to the heat in my area. Usually if it's not VHB tape- I can't use it!
