I did the stairs as well, I ripped off the old carped, the top step is actully screwed on , removed the screws then I removed all the crews that fastens the steps to the floor.

I removed all thousand stapels and I used stair nosing and glued (pl 400) the laminate to the steps.

not hard to do.

What did you put on the sides and risers on the stairs? Sure would like to see a picture!

On the leading edge of your slide what did you use to close the gap between the slide area and main living area? It looks like either a metal or rubber piece.also is there a height difference between these floors? a detailed drawing of the leading edge as you did it would help a lot
