RV Spare Tire Mount

Just out of curiosity, my TV has the truck spare mounted under the truck at the back. I was wondering if I can put the RV spare under the truck spare?

Will this cable system hold up or will it snap?

Is this even doable?

Any thoughts?

Where is the rv spare mounted now? Never have liked the idea of crawling under the truck to pull the spare out. And the crank for the truck spare tire is right above the bumper. If you have a trailer hooked up, that could be in the way.

Flat tires only happen at night when it is raining and on a dark road.
But flats don't happen often....do they?

I won't be a happy camper when a flat happens, even if it happens in my own driveway. Having the tools and parts, easily accessable, to get me on my way, would be important.

The RV spare used to be mounted on the back bumper of the RV, but I have a fold up rack there instead. So the spare is sitting inside the RV. I am looking at possibilities, such as under another spare(truck) or making a mount system under the tongue area of the RV

Someone just posted the other day where he used a gm tIre lIftIng mechanism under his camper.
So the cable and winch system under your pickup was mounted under his camper.
Looked sweet.
Maybe he'll post pictures.

I have seen some TT/5W have the spares under the bottom of the rear of their units. Just be sure it can be somewhat easily accessed when needed.

My first camper was a popup. The spare was behind the gas bottle in the front tongue area. You could rig up something under the tongue area.

Just remember, that will add to the weight up front.

It'll be adding weight up front, one 25-50lb spare RV tire versus what will be stored on rack behind RV compensates for it I think.

What I am asking is, can the cable system on my TV hold 2 spare tires, one for the truck and one for the RV under one lift?

I can't give you that answer. I'd say try it. May have to add a 2nd cable/chain for support.

I pulled the spare off the back of my TT and stood it up aginst the front wall of the trk bed and used a ratchet strap to secure there standing up, doesn't move bounce or rattle.

Ok, talked to a service manager at chev dealer, the cable can support up to 60lbs, its the other hardware that won't hold up. So this is not an option for 2 spare tires stackd underneath.
And I thought I had a good way to do it, oh well, back to the drawing board

Ron I tried to look for the post but had no luck. I need to find a way to mount my spare because it takes up to much space in the pass through. I would like to see some pic on how other people has mounted there's

they used one of these.
they used a piece of tubing from one frame rail to the other than bolted this unit to it .
