Satellites

I have cable at home. We would like a satellite in our camper. Question is which one is better for the money?

its all about what you like. for the most part they are the same. i like DISH myself but have direct TV in my RV dish had better remotes as they used a UHF, you can change channel from any where but direct TV has to be in room

you have to upgrade your DirecTV remote to RF from infrared $24... I change my channel from the basement at home

I use DirecTV at home and I take my receiver on the road with me and I picked up a second dish for the road.

Many, many threads on here comparing Dish to DirecTV...

I personally like dish network and it's ease of setup.
About 8 minutes start to finish.

Dish Network using the Tailgater. Used at FROG Rally and was done in 5-10 minutes from the time I set it out to watching TV. Set it on top of the motorhome to clear all the other units.

I have DirecTV at home but went with a Tailgater and Dish for the RV because: It cost to much for DirecTV HD, I pay $6.05 per month that I don't use the Dish service, it is easy to setup and when I got it there was a special for $199 for the Tailgater, receiver and 50 feet of cable. I had it shipped from a Dish dealer in Florida two day FedEx and I also didn't have to pay sales tax because I am in Texas and they Florida. That save about $17. Good Luck

I take my Directv receiver from home and use an old dish I had before my latest home upgrade. (You just have to make sure the receiver matches the dish. If they don't, you can order parts to make the dish match.)
Then, when setting up I use an android phone app called SatFinder. It shows me where to point the dish. It is easy to use and works every time.
Cost - $0 since I am using stuff I had and programming I am already paying for at home.
