Screen door latch hacks??

Greetings!
One of our pet peeves is having to slide
the little panel open to reach the screen
door latch. Of course you have to slide it
closed when you're done to keep bugs out. This is even more of a pain if you have a drink or something in one hand.

I wonder why the makers haven't figured out a solution to this after all these years??

If you have somehow modified the screen latch or have some other solution or hack for this -- please share it!
Thanks!!

I put this on one of our previous campers. Easy install and worked well.
https://www.campingworld.com/screen-door-opener

Or you could get one of these which would also work:
https://www.amazon.com/Lippert-23906...een+door+latch
Just check the measurements of your screen door to make sure it'll fit. The plastic could be trimmed down to make it fit.

There is a device you can buy that mounts to your present sliding panel via a hole you drill into the sliding panel. Camco part #43953 screen door opener. I put one of these on m previous TT and it works.

On our screen door there is a round clear plastic knob. Daughter found out it moves downward and that opens the door latch. I thought it was just to slide the panel open to reach the latch. BTW, our TT is a KS.

I've done a mod on three different trailers using a bicycle spoke.
If anyone is interested in how I did this I'll look for my pictures

Cost is minimal, maybe a couple dollars. Spokes won't rust.

Screen door latch

Hello ... what does your latch look like? Big round clear plastic with black latch on other side? Sorry for verbal description ... not at our rig to take pic ... but if that is what yours is like, just push down on the round circle and it will connect with latch and open.

Cheers

The round piece has a tab on the outside that engages the latch handle as you press down.

That's exactly what mine looks like. Thanks for getting the pic. I forgot to make myself a note to remind me when I get home.

Any possibility you could get a picture of that label on that clear panel?

Same here.

And literally looks like the second link (to amazon) for the Lippert product from one of the first posts.

we used the camco screen lever thingy that was recommended above. works great and you can keep the door shut.

you need an odd drill bit size to install, so make sure you've read the directions prior so you've got it on hand.

The screen door on my TT has a lever on both sides. The only time I need to open the plastic panel is when I want to go out when the outside door is closed. Or when DW needs to pass a brew out to me.
