Screens for the Refer vents

I noticed wasps going in and out of our side vents where the refer lives. I opened things up and found the beginnings of a nest in the bottom. No good!

After pricing the stuff out there on Amazon and at the big box Camping Store I thought that there had to be a better way. So I went to Menards and found some polyurethane glue and some heavy plastic screen material. Total cost 10 bucks and I have enough screen left over to replace my screen in the Camper door if necessary... Thinking with Grandkids it is a pretty good bet.

Just cut some pieces to fit and glued them in with the poly glue. Once it sets up completely I will trim the excess off. I think it will work and it is WAY cheaper than the screens that they sell.

Thanks,

looks good . it looks like you put the screens on the outside not on the inside wondering why?

The ones that you buy from Camping World or on Amazon attach to the outside. When I looked on the inside the material would have to bend 90 degrees around to cover the bottom.

It is working already just looked and found mud on the outside of the vent. Daubers....Rejected

They look good. For what it's worth, I used aluminum gutter screen that I had laying around and cut and formed them to the inside of the vents. I used zip ties to secure them. They are overkill being so rigid but will keep everything out.

Used regular galnvanized window screen for mine along with the vent for WH and furnace. Cut to fit and used my hot glue gun to keep them there.
