Security light

Our security light goes out every time it rains. Took it apart yesterday figured out why. The gasket that fits around the cover is very, very thin, not really capable of stopping any amount of water. Also, the light socket sits inside the cover in a vertical position. Any water that does get inside goes right into the socket. The bulb then blows and of course gets all corroded. Removed the socket and re-mounted it vertically, also put a caulking type seal around the light cover, also put in longer stainless steel threaded screws. Would like to install an LED bulb set-up, may get back in there an do that..
