Bought my 233s with no slide topper, but had one installed by the dealer after a couple initial trips. I wanted to make it as easy as possible to get set up and tear down at the camp site.

I am pleased with the Dometic Elite so far. No issues so far and it cuts a couple minutes off the departure from the camp site.

Do you have the metal wrap on your toppers? My dealer installed the toppers on my new trailer. They are supposed to have metal wrap but they messed up and ordered the wrong ones. Do I push for the metal wrap or take a credit for the mess up?

If they can be added, get them. Just as with any awning the wrap will greatly extend the life of the fabric while closed, which is how it's spends most of its life. I kept my old awning clean, put it up dry and it was in perfect shape, except the very top edge near the body which was destroyed by the sun and weather.

I.suggest pushing for the metal wrap. . We had just installed the slide topper and it was my DW's trip out with the Rockwood Roo. When she returned home, I noticed that the metal wrap had a nice blue stipe along the length of it, She has no idea what she hit or scraped, but the new topper would have been destroyed if we didn't have the wrap.
