Skylight and radiant heat
I reduced the heat allowed I to the bathroom through the skylight with a simple, cheap, easy mod. Take yourself to WM, look in the crafts section for the plastic, needlepoint backing. There are three to a pack, each is about 12" X 24", $3.00. Cut one to size. We used six small pieces of double stick tape. But! We had to stitch each one along one edge of itself - it doesn't adhere well to the plastic. This mod greatly reduced the heat. Yet allows the light. Sort of like an arbor!

I made a perforated alum cover for the outside to keep the heat from getting into the inside. It has a solid alum panel in the top for cleanout which further blocks the heat. Used Eternabond tape to attach it to the roof without drilling any holes.

I just used a two layer of window screen taped in place on the inner bubble (yes, I removed the 87 screws holding it is place, taped the screen on it and replaced it) it is flat on the inside portion so very easy to work with. $0.0 as I already had the excess screen from redoing a couple of doors.

I simply cleaned the skylight and painted it with 2-3 coats of Krylon Gloss White paint. No heatm all the light and cost me under $4.

Did you use the the Krylon for plastic or just the normal enamel paint?

We took the inside dome off- about 4 screws and slipped some reflextic (silver bubble insulated materials found at Home Depot or similar store) and then replaced the inside dome. Now with this material between the outside dome and the inside- looks great and will save us turning on the second AC this summer hopefully.

Just buy reflective window film from lowes still see thru let's light in with no glare and no heat
