Sourcing interior wood trim?

Those of you who have modfied your entertainment centers, where did you find additional prefinished wood?

I put a 32inch LCD tv in our Sierra a few weeks ago and I need a piece of 1x4 about 30 inches long to fill in a gap. Of course if I could find a piece that matched right up it would be easiest and look the best.

Here is the color.

I would check Home Depot, Lowes, etc. FR is going to be expensive more than likely. You should be able to come up with something really close at the home improvement store.

Take a drawer front or door with you to Home Depot or Lowes. You should be able to find a close match.

Thanks for the info.

I ended up getting a piece of oak and cutting it to size on the table saw. Found a stain that matched perfectly. Looks great and the wife is happy.

It's the piece between the fake fire and the TV.

Stain is wet in that pic and not buffed out.

If you are in a pinch and can't wait for factory direct prefinished wood parts, I have experemented with several woods and matched my paneling. It looks to be about the same as yours. Birch ply is great, hardwoods soak in the stain too deep to get a proper color match. A light cherry over a wood conditioner works well. Condition the wood, then apply the light cherry, but don't let it sit too long. After it dries, a coat of wax will give it the same sheen as the factory (almost). Its also much, much cheaper then a facory panel.
