Spare tire storage

I am looking to move my spare tire from the bumper to under the TT.
Has anyone used the BAL Hide-A-Spare Tire Storage?
If so is it convenient, secure? Would you recommend it?

Yes, have had the hide-a-spare for 4-5 years and have towed our TT for over 20K miles with it. Very secure and no issues. I like the way it makes the rear of our TT "cleaner" looking.

Note that they have two or three versions depending if you have an enclosed underbelly or not. Make sure to get the correct one.

What prompted us to get one was that we use a ferry in WA state sometimes each year and with the spare tire on the back, we got dinged an incremental rate increase for being just over 50' overall (even if ferry only partly full). With the BAL carried underneath we avoid the extra charge and it's paid for itself!

Thanks for the reply.
I thought there would be more discussion on this.
I guess what you have said pretty much sums it up.
I think the best price is from Wally World.

Ditto!

Do make sure that you have the space to store it under your trailer.

If you donít have an underbelly another cool option is to get a crank down tire carrier as well.

Spare tire storage

I installed two of these. I like them due to the simplicity. They work fine with my underbelly as it is mounted on the bottom of the IBEAM.
