Speakers closer to the bed.

Just recently purchased a "new" 2012 APEX 22QBS. I plan on asking it as comfortable as possible as the wife would rather camp than breathe most weekends.

I have very few comfort needs. However, when it rains hard and we are stuck inside or the AC is on, it's very difficult to hear the TV from the bed. I'm thinking of wireless speakers or a wireless sound bar closer to the bed to avoid running wires or messing something up. Anyone done any thoughts or ideas on this? I'm still in the planning stages.

We have the exact same problem in our 2306. And it has been quite the rainy summer, so we couldn't watch any TV for many nights. (kinda glad anyway) I think I am going to do it with Bluetooth. I already have a nice Bluetooth speaker so all I need to buy is a Bluetooth transmitter unit. (maybe $30. )Will put the speaker next to me and run a wire behind the bed to a remote speaker on my wife's bedside table. Could even plug headsets into the speaker. Only problem with Bluetooth is it is a one to one system. You can't put one transmitter on the TV and use 2 receivers.

As far as wireless headphones go, one word of caution. Many of the wireless headphone systems use an FM transmitter to get sound to the headphones. This can work OK but don't buy a cheap one. But way better is the infrared kind. (IR) They work the best.

We also had the same problem in our previous camper, fixed by buying $10 computer speakers and installed them under the cabinets next to our bed. You can plug headphones on it (speakers) if you don't want to wake your DW!
Plus you get "surround" sound.

That was a thought but I want to stay away from running wires if I can. I don't mind paying a little for decent sound, too.

In our new camper we have speakers in our bedroom ceiling area, but still added 2 Yamaha monitor speakers to the tv, (not $10) and the sound is great!

Even in the rain or over the AC? That's what I'm looking for.

Yes, at least in our camper!

We have bluetooth speaker and wireless transmitter and are very happy. Set the speaker on the table were we sit most of the time and move it to the nightstand if we watch tv in bed. Sound is better also.

what about when running a dvd? our TV swivels 180 so we can see it in the bedroom but the dvd speakers are in the living room. The only sound we would get is the speakers from the TV which dont get the sound from the Jensen unit we have? Wirelss if it could be hooked up would be great

Bluetooth works awesome and my hearing is not what it used to be! When the air/ heat is running or in a bad storm we use it and are really happy with the sound quality and volume.
