A lot of people warn not to mix metals with the water heater tank, so I used a nylon nipple between the tank and hose. I also cut the rubber coating from the valve handle so it doesn't end up being melted by the burner. Cracking the pressure valve helps drain the tank." (Jeff's RV Page)

I like this one but would like to hear everyone else's opinion on the mixing of metals. What is the concern about? (newbie here)

Galvanic or two-metal corrosion

Galvanic Corrosion is the issue he is trying to avoid. Two different metals in contact will react with each other over time causing corrosion. Depending on the two metals this corrosion can occur VERY fast and destroy the items in question by accelerated "rusting."

Look at your water hook up for your washer at home. Likely you will notice a green-like corrosion around it... Same type of thing.
