Spring Mods Outside shower and Spray-Away

Added an outside shower. Don't forget the six P's.
Before the cut, I prodded and probed to ensure no "Uh Oh's".
After the cut the edges of the wall were reinforced with 1-1/2"
wood stock to create a strong backing for mounting screws.
Sealing Tape around the mating surfaces and Tub/Tile sealer
on the upper and sides of the trim.
I used the brass Sharkbite push on (PEX) fittings.

After the shock of cutting into the aluminum skin wore off
I decided to get the Spray Away washdown kit.
Pretty much following the same installation procedure as for the
shower.

Fonzie...odd, worked for me - click and opened a new window for the slideshow.

KA1VCQ - great job!! When O saw your "finished" photo I thought...big deal, it's a factory installed shower....then I saw the construction photos

Showers are easy to put in. But it takes a while to make the first cut in your new trailer. Or two beers Great job regardles. I did mine two weeks after owning my trailer.

Well I got the Spray Away from local dealer and with gift card. They are not cheap but you can opt for just the connection and store the hose in your "basement." But there are several on ebay now:

Can you use the spray away connection for an air connection to winterize the RV?

I never tried it, but surely seems possible.
Things to check tho:
Interconnections, will air pass in the direction you need.
Water Pump: check valves will not allow air to pass back towards tank, nor shoreside connection.
Pressure: make sure you do not over pressurize the system.


I made up a "special" connection to connect to shoreside water, then blow out all the branches individually. Do this several times over two weeks just to make sure. Then disconnect water pump from both sides (and expansion tank if you use one.) Drain water heater first.

Thanks for the prompt response.
Good thought about the one way valves. After further thought the air connection to the city water inlet, cutting down the pressure to 40lbs and proceeding to the water tank, faucets including the spray away and finally the water pump seems the tried and true way to accomplish this task.
