Steadyfast Stabilizers

Put on my Steadyfast's toady. Don't really know anyone with JT's I am sure they are fine too. I picked these mainly because of the cost and looked easy to use. The instructions say it should take about 2-3 hours to do this. I am a pretty handy fella, and it took me right at two hours. Instructions pretty straight forward, just take your time. Sit down and read them through once, look over the pictures and get after it. I went back to the instructions and pictures after every step. Drilling the frame takes the longgest by far (the kit comes with the right size drill bit) If you pre drill all the holes with a smaller drill bit it makes it much easier when you go to make the bigger holes. Also take your time when using the self tapping bolts that hold the locking brackets on. Go slow and apply steady pressure and you will be fine. Haven't got to really try them out, but did a driveway test...All I can say is wow, what a difference!! I am a pretty stout guy (6'1" 265) and I really tried to rock the camper and couldn't do it. These should come on every camper new. Simple to use, due to the fact that my frame is so far under the coach I do have to get on one knee to reach the big wing nuts. But no big deal, so worth it. If anyone has any questions please ask.

I've also purchased...just waiting for warmer weather to install.

The kit can be purchased on-line at Steadyfast's site or by calling their toll free number. They are the only distributor. Cost is $299 with free shipping with USA.

I see how this system will reduce or eliminate side to side movement. Since you are still on rubber tires will this system eliminate the bouncing when walking say down the steps in a fifth wheel?

You're correct. No stabilizer system will eliminate bounce from the tires or suspension. If it's that bad you could place another set of jacks to the frame near the axles. I also lock both sets of wheels with homemade X chocks.

I believe that the majority of the movement is from the front and rear stabilizers.

I cheated and had my Strongarm's installed by the dealer, before delivery. When I got home and looked at the installation, I believe anybody could it with little trouble.

Looks like we are going to be a steady group this year!

Warmer weather? It doesn't get warm in Canada. You will have to drive down here to Arizona to install.
Iggy

Last March 2011 I was in a bad storm on the coast in Mexico and the SteadyFast saved the day with 40-45 mph cross winds. See below and my install picture link.

Still a little cold out, but warm weather just around the corner, but that's here in Southern Ontario...the Banana Belt of Canada. Other parts of Canada have only two seasons...July and Winter!

I've got home made fronts and bals in the back and they are wonderful in the elimination of movement!

Been thinking of these myself but just can't see spending that much money for them. So I guess when I get some free time I will have to make a set myself. But am glad to hear they are worth the time and money.

I used two cargo jacks from
Www.midwestwheel.com I had to cut them down and weld nuts on the end then screwed in Hein joints from a race car shop and bolted them on.
