They look good and they look like they are adjustable. Once adjusted how do you lock it in place?

The picture is not from the front due to being next to wall but looking from the front of steps they are angled out ward so they tend to self lock in place.

Looks good, Great idea. I have some short pcs of alum tubing from somewhere or other that would be ideal. Will just get some 5/8" threaded rod and make them screw adjustable. Thank you very much onetoneford.

Mine are adjustable have internal threads that the inner tube is adjusted on. The outer Tube is 3/4 " EMT and the Inner tube is S/S tubing with a nut welded on the top side threads are welded to a piece of tubing that fits inside top 1 inch of 3/4 tubing and then are crossed drilled for the top swivel bolt. all this is mounted into 1-1/4 " square tubing which I cut out to clear legs and to give side support. then on the bottom are two home made swivel bases to fit some foot pads I got off a cargo lock bar.
They are adjustable from 7-7/8" to about 13-1/2"....

I guess it would but you really just need to keep them from flexing. The only thing I learned is not to over extend the stands because the steps try to fold when you get to the next step so I just adjust so they just touch the ground and it works great. I got the Idea from E-bay on one that someone sells that only has one leg but I like the Idea of two.

I just put a harbor freight brand scissor jack on my trailer today. I mounted it between the steps and the front tire. I used it for a week to stabilize the ultra lite frame on the 2703. Chizeled out the wood on the bottom of the frame and mounted a 2 1/2" square tube to the frame. Had to work around the gas line. Works great.

That's a good idea. To address the same situation, Similar to Onetonford's photos I found at Amazon a step support that is a small adjustable screw jack to put between the ground and the bottom step. They have a 4" to 8" and one a little longer for about $12 to $16. They are two flat plates on each end of a screw adjustable shaft. (search RV Save-a-step brace)

This is what I use. Bolts around the 3/4" tube on the 2nd step and swings in for travel.

One works but I think two would work much better. I just ordered the second.

Very similar to the ones we just ordered from Camping World. They make a WORLD of difference. No flex, no camper rocking, etc. I highly recommend everyone do this mod. If you watch someone go in and out of your TT, you'll see the just how much they flex. I can't see the steps/frame lasting the lifetime of the TT without proper support.
