Stereo Upgrade

Hi all. Has anyone ever replaced the stereo in their camper? Specifically the non-DVD ones. The Sony "upgrade" in my Viking 17FQ doesn't have Bluetooth, and frankly it's ugly as sin. It's black/silver/red and looks like it belongs in a tuner than a camper. Plus it is confusing to access the balance and fader to switch sound from inside or outside sound only.

Is it challenging, or do they pretty much pop in and pop out?

I know I can get a Bluetooth dongle for the 3.5 aux import, but it's kind of unsightly (according to DW) and has spotty performance.

Usually radios are standard DIN size and easily might need a wiring harness but even that is unlikely. Suggest you take a look at as they carry a wide range AND will walk you through any installation issues you have and make sure you have what you need before you begin. You might be even happier if you replace the cheapo speakers at the same time.
Good luck!

This won't fix the ugly, but if it has an aux input on the back, check out Fusion MS-BT100. It's a hide away style Bluetooth. Installed on my camper last year. Be sure to put a switch on it though. Or use a relay to power it from the blue/white wire on the back of the stereo. I just wired mine to the red wire on the stereo and it stopped working. Disconnected it and re powered and on again. Replacing is easy. Almost all aftermarket stereos have the same color wiring for power and speakers if they are the automotive or marine type. Some of the off-brands use different colors for whatever reason.
