Storage box for sewer hose?

I keep 30' (20' and 10') in each of my 2 trays. I'm kicking around getting another 10' of hose in two 5' sections. They should all fit nicely.

First, I usually don't use all of it. I had one occasion where I needed almost all of it for hookups. I don't recall where I was- but it happened. The want for the 5' pieces is to just use less hose (instead of using a 10', many times I only need a 5' section).

I have 2 sewer outlets on the camper. They're a good 10'-15' apart. I don't have them plumbed together (not sure I'm enthusiastic about doing it since the axles are between them and both sewer connections have gray and black tanks behind them.

I generally put my wye at the site's sewer connection and then use varying lengths of hose from the sewer outlets on the camper to the wye.

Oh boy! You're making my sewer sweat...

It does. I think I could lessen how much sewer hose I carry by changing my configuration of how I connect the wye and whatnot. A lot of people will plumb the 2 holes together - I'm just not sure it would work for me.

Don't know what that has to do with it, my rear tank is behind the axle also. I ran the hard plumbing inside the axle frame work 2 x 4 tubing (torsion axle). If you run it close to the frame and secure it, it should work great and eliminate all the slinky hose and the time hooking it up and messing with it.

Lou, just wanted to say your ideas are going a long way. Old post but new information for me. I have a new project this weekend! Thanks for your great idea. Not only have i been looking for a good storage solution for my sewer hose for a very long time but as you have shown, it's a good solution for other things. I think my folding camping chairs might find their way into one of these if I can get them to fit and fishing rods.

Here are some more with the locks installed.

The one with the Eyebolt through it is the folding ladder. I wanted "positive retention" on that puppy. The trays are 4 inch rain gutter with "internal" end plates. They are symmetric and not sold at Home Depot; only Lowes.

I will get a photo of how they are put together tomorrow.
They are glued and pop riveted to the gutter.

The handles are pop riveted on with backing washers.

MMM... looking at that last photo I need to check that ferrule again. Looks like I only got one crimp on it. My chest is black and blue from using it to hold one handle of that crimping tool. Those 3/16 ferrules need 2 men and a boy to crimp; try it laying on your back...

They were 5 inch vinyl posts with end caps.

If you haven't left there yet, blow your horn when you go though Clyde (15 miles East of Abilene on I-20' but be quick or you'll miss it. Thats my DW's home town.

You might see some C -130 J's I think they are, flying out of Dyess AFB in Abilene.

Here's what I used:

1 - 5x5 vinyl fence post cover (8')
2 - 5x5 vinyl fence post cap
1 - 5" vinyl gutter (8' or 10' cut to size)
2 - gutter end caps
4 - piano hinges (approximate 1")
2 - latches
2 - cotter pins
20 - aluminum rivets

The tools needed were:
- saw if your gutter was too long
- drill for drilling holes for rivets
- rivet gun for riveting everything together

Edited to add:
- To attach the post cap to the post cover, I use 2 piano hinges on one side. This keeps them attached to the tube.
- The latches are to keep the post caps closed.
- I use the cotter pins to ensure the latches stay closed.
- I attached gutter end caps to either end of the gutter to form a tray.
