Storage box for sewer hose?

Oh, for now, DH and I use a square utility box I picked up at WalMart...it's about 5 inches deep and probably 2 ft. square. Our hose fits in it perfectly, along with the fittings. The hose that came with the RV wouldn't fit...this new one seems to snap together at each rib of the hose...making it much smaller when not in use.

But *I* want the storage tube I posted a link to above.

I use 2 piano hinges for each end for the end post caps. That way they stay on the tube at all times. I didn't look to see how Lou did his and unfortunately can't take pictures of mine right now as the wife is off with the truck (mine live in the bed of the truck, snuggled beside of the hitch).

I used 3 posts because I have a folding ladder in one, flag poles and antenna mast in another, and the sewer hoses in the last one. All parts came from Lowes and Home Depot.

The Gutters/Ends are from Lowes and Home Depot carries the posts and caps.

Cable and Crimps for the ferrules were from Lowes.

That has become painfully obvious.
My next mod is moving THIS mod to the rear aft of the rear stabilizer jacks.

It involves dropping the rear stabilizers and removing the CorePlast to gain access to the steel I beam.

I am using a work tote. I keep it ratchet strapped to the toungue right next to the battery. Very easy to access and it holds my regular length sewer hose along with all the fittings and my black tank rinser hose (15 feet of blue garden hose). It jas worked great for the last 6 years. The ratchet strap os getting old and the box itself is still good but showing it's age. I think i paid $20 for the box. One of the best things i've done.

Here's how I did 2 of them. Drilled 1/2" hole in the upper and lower flanges of the I beam, 1/2" ready bolt, nylock nuts, a bar on the bottom and a pc of oak on the top to clamp them.

I know most - well at least I - have learned to put a sewer hose in the bumper results in "premature" failure of the hose due to rubbing on the rough surfaces inside the bumper. I've been using the 4" gutter mentioned above as a "sleeve" to carry the hose in and out of the bumper. Fits/works just great! 73

After scraping mine again today (3rd time) and bending the bolts, I am definitely going to relocate mine farther forward, probably in front of the rear stab jack and just behind the slide out.

Edited to add:
- To attach the post cap to the post cover, I use 2 piano hinges on one side. This keeps them attached to the tube.
- The latches are to keep the post caps closed.
- I use the cotter pins to ensure the latches stay closed.
- I attached gutter end caps to either end of the gutter to form a tray.

Ependydad: During your shopping for materials, have you seen posts, etc. in "black" color? I believe it is manufactured, but I have not located a source for black fencing posts.

Think I saw some thru home depot on line. I used white, but painted them black with krylon fusion plastic spray paint

Just get black paint for plastic. Works great.

I've only seen/looked for white. Sounds like the overwhelming responses above say just paint it.

I painted mine too. Just scuffed the whole thing with a scotch brite red pad, wiped with alcohol, and blasted it with some 99cent Lowes paint.

Picked up 3 sections of the fence post and caps last night at Lowes. Will be working on my set up. Some mods to the mods:

Lockable access on both sides.
Use I-bolts thu caps as handle/locking device.
Use wire cable back to threaded rod on one side and pad lock on the other for securing.

This is a great mod/thread, will post pictures when done.
