I keep the hitch on the trailer and lock the coupler. The bars go in the storage area.

Makes it easy to just back up with an empty receiver and go.

This is what I did to my trailer. This actually started as a box for my battery, but I have enough room to put my bars and WDH in there. Works out pretty good.

Make use of our "blue box" (recycle container) to carry the hitch head and receiver lock/misc lubs. The bars and blue box stored under tonneau cover in TV. Boy that head seems to be getting heavier every year.

I put my bars in the front storage area and my shank and head under the master bed. I always take the chains on the cams and lock them up into position so someone is really gonna have to try to steal them!!

Got the box from Harbor Freight. Being on sale and with a 20% coupon, I think It was like $50.

I made this tube for the Equalizer bars. The hitch head stays on the truck.

I'm with Keller... I mounted a box up on the front tongue for the battery and the hitch... When I am towing the trailer, the blocks of wood used on the ground and wheel chocks replace the hitch...

I also went as far as to put a battery disconnect on the trailer. This way my battery doesnt go dead when it is sitting there not being used. I mounted it down on the frame and used Liquid tape to waterproof the connections. Works great!

I added a very similar box to trailer last week after someone stole my battery. It was around $60 at Wal-Mart. I'm not 100% happy with how I mounted it, but I'm not unhappy enough to redo it.

X2... If the harbor freight box was a little thicker walled that is what I would prefer...
I also installed a 7 pin female plug like what would be on the back of the truck with a fuse link between the +12v pin and running lights pin. This way I can plug in the loose end of the cord to keep it off the ground. Then at night the running lights are on and gives off a unique look... I pull the fuse out during the day to keep the lights off...

I like those boxes you guys. Granted the HF box is not very thick metal, but once I had it mounted down it seems to be ok.

I'd have to say yours looks a lot nicer Keller... just worried me having the lighter weight steel hanging out in front here in the midwest salt will rust just about everything!
once this box fails me I'm custom building one... I work at a sheet metal shop so I will just have em zip one out of diamond plate for me...

I live in Ohio so the salt does eat everything. I will probably paint the box with Rhino Liner or some generic brand to protect it from the salt.

That would be pretty sweet! Will have to keep that in mind if I create one of my own!
