Storage Under Bed

I have a 2017 27ft. Salem Travel Trailer. We like the unit. But, we need more permanent storage for clothes. Has anyone added drawers / doors to the under bed lift up storage area for clothes? If yes, what did you do?

Our Cruise Lite is a different model so this may not offer you much but here goes. Under our bench seat in the dinet was storage area that you could only access by removing the cushion and a plywood panel - a real PIA. I took out the face panel for that bench, created a frame and made a door for that storage area that pretty much matches the one under the other seat. I would imagine you could do the same to the the panel at the foot of your bed. The big difference is that the under bed storage on our TT is also open to the pass through in the front of the trailer. I guess you could close that off if your's is like that...

Which 27' TT do you have?

We have the 29RKSS which is the fifth wheel version of the 27RKSS TT, and while I haven't added doors or drawers to the under bed storage, I did change the lift struts so it raised up higher and allowed better access.

I did add two drawers to each side of our under bed storage area to our FR Surveyor. I have since traded so do not have pics of what I did. It was relatively easy. I cut our the panel between the braces to allow placement of the drawers I constructed for each opening and then purchased drawer/cabinet faces from a local RV surplus location. They worked great. The only downside is that you lose some space because of the drawer slides, but make the storage area easier to access the space.

2 drawers per side was what I had in mind. I'll need to search our RV surplus in my area to get some drawer / door fronts in my area. I was thinking about building a plywood box around the drawers.
