Hi Dave!

Most of us have the Camco Rhinoflex sewer hose system and the sewer connectors are *just* too big for the bumper (which ranges from just under to just over 4" square) The 5x5" Fencepost cover gives you enough room for everything + the gutter slide is a great supportfor your sewer hose when deployed.

Besides, Bumpers are for storing your clothes hanger and collapsable ladder silly

Also prevents rotting out the bumper from the inside due to "sewer liquids."

Ahhh. Knew there were some good reasons! I don't have a deluxe sewer hose nor a collapsable ladder…yet.

Unless you want to have a "close encounter of the Sewer Kind" ditch your current sewer hose and get the Camco Rhinoflex - only $30 for complete peace of mind (and yes get the 15' - you will not only need it but probably buy a 5' extension after one trip where the 15' 'doesn't quite stretch to fit'

Storing sewer hose.

I used heavy duty zip ties last year on our TT when I strapped a sewer hose canister to the underside of the bumper to store a spare length of hose. It worked just fine and never shifted.

I am sure that they work but it is just the *thought* that bugs me

At Lowes, they have 7" galvanized strips that have holes in them every inch or so. Get 8 of those, 8 6" long 5/16" carriage bolts, 8 lock nuts and BOLT that baby on!

I used the large zip ties too. Don't know about UV, but they hold up for at least a few years. I cut mine off when I traded in the old rv before they had a chance to go bad. Plus, there's a couple dozen in the package. I would guess that a pack or the big zip ties would last as long as the camper.

If you are bolting it onto the rear bumper wouldnt the 6" bolts be on the short side...the bumper is 4"in and the fencepost will be 5"....am I missing something?

I forgot to say I added another 5"tube right next to the first 1 I mounted because I have two separate dump valves.
