Subwoofer Cabinet Modification

FR uses a reverse hinge to secure the cabinet door where the subwoofer is located. I removed this hinge (Still need to fill the screw holes). I then located a similar door handle (match door above) and installed. I installed a door latch. There is a square hole on the left inside. I had some peg board, so cut a piece to fill the hole, after tucking in the wiring. I then needed to protect the 8 inch subwoofer. I looked for a speaker cover but couldnt locate one, so I got a under the shelf wire shelf at walmart, I cut it up and made a few bends to use small screws for attachment to the speaker front.
The mod gave a space to tuck a few thing in. Will still not want to block the front of the speaker. Also, the L bracket installed at factory was not screwed to floor, however the screw was laying next to the bracket
The sub is top heavy so still seemed to want to tip fwd, so I secured the top of the sub to remedy.
Happy Camping to one and all.

Thanks for some Ideas, I now want to install a Bose system in my camper. My 06 did not come with a surround sound Stereo just that cheap Concertone thing that I already removed when I installed the 32" TV. That's a good Idea you came up with!!

Good idea and "a picture is worth a thousand words" applies here-
Thanks!!

We've noticed our trailer has lots of places where they've waisted
perfectly good storage space.
We have areas under the sofa and under our dinette seats where
there is a space much larger than the little drawer they stuck
in there.
We will be looking at each one, in turn, to try to find ways to
salvage those lost space areas.

Our previous trailer was smaller but actually had more inside cabinet
storage space. We miss the storage!!

Thanks for sharing!

The pic of 32" TV are already posted under MODS AND UPGRADES. When I find the best way to run the speaker wire for the Bose, I will post the pic.

I'd say good job also. However, I would watch what you put in there cause your probably gonna get some really bad vibrations off of anything stored close to the sub. I'm betting it doesnt have much power, but still it's all bass so anything will probably rattle that's next to it.

You are correct eandsphotograpy. I will have to choose the items stored there carefully. I am thinking dog leashes, towel to dry their feet, stuff like that. And I dont intend to block the front of the speaker either. Wife.com found a shallow plastic basket to go in front. May keep all the remotes for TV, Concertone, XM in the basket?? Happy Camping!
