I us a 3 1/2 ft chain with a "S" hook bent closed in the last link. The "S" hook is attached to the female end of my surge supressor.
I simply wrap the chain around the power pedestal and lock it.
Chain and "S" hook came from Lowe's. You can clos the "S" hook with a vise, hammer or large vise grips.
I used two keyed alike locks, one thru the first and third link of the chain and the second goes around the post or water pipe.

I watched a guy who had the plastic box coupling lock stomp it to pieces when he couldn't find the key. LOL. Just another camp ground humorous moment part of the fun of RVing.
I was pretty disappointed with the free locking hasp I got with my order from Camping World. Not only is just plastic but has got to be one of the dumbest looking product designs when in use that I've ever seen.
Thanks for verifying what I thought might be possible.

I spliced the 50 amp cable and bought 2 new connectors to attach to my Progressive Industries 50 amp suppressor, which is mounted in the basement. A long cable from the power box connection enters through a cable hatch in the floor, goes through the suppressor, and exits to a short cable to the RV side connection. Cable hatches and steel wool keep the critters out.
