I just completed this mod and thought I'd provide a minor addition. The riser kit now costs $200 for a two-axle trailer. I did not want to jack anywhere but directly under the axle connections, so I did one axle at a time. With one helper (pretty much mandatory) it took about four hours.

The risers are 3 inches, and I wanted another inch of clearance. I bought some 1" x 2" steel bar at a local steel supplier and paid a machine shop to drill 5/8" holes for the bolts and several 1" holes to reduce weight. The total cost of materials & milling was $77.

Almost all Surveyor and R-Pods have Lippert Axles with 12” axle braces with bolt holes 9” apart (as seen in the photos in previous posts). For some reason my 2008 Surveyor SV291 had non-standard axles. Forest River sent a kit based on my VIN that was the wrong size. They immediately sent a replacement which was exactly the same as the first kit. After looking at a photo of my axle label and reviewing kit measurements they sent the right one. They were very quick and apologetic and even told me I could keep the two kits they sent in error. I’ll probably sell those over on the classifieds forum at a good discount. To make sure you get the correct kit make sure you measure your axle braces (12” standard, 11” non-standard) and the spacing of the bolt holes (9” standard, 8” non-standard).
