Table Mods

I have a Flagstaff 831fkbss and I want to remove the folding legs from my table as I find the table to be very shaky (more spilled coffee than I care to remember). I thought I remembered seeing a post where someone removed the legs from the table and replaced them with a removeable 2 tubular post system that bolts to both the floor and the underside of the table using 2 flanges. The table is located on the slide out and I am not sure about drilling into the floor to mount the flange that holds the post to the floor. I was wondering if anybody has done this mod? Anything to watch out for, etc

Did you drill thru the floor or did you use Lag type wood screws to anchor the base plate down? I have carpeting and I dont want to rip it up, just want to put the flange down on top of it and make sure its still secure..What size screws did you use???

i used a hole saw for the large center hole and used wood screws to hold the bases to the floor. that is how they are normally installed in the floor. you will have to trim the carpet back from the karge center hole but not to far so the flat ring will still hold the carpet down when you screw the mount down. good luck. it was easy. i spent lots of time measuring for center and how far from the wall to make sure the table was in the position i wanted and well supported.
