Not really. At least not for OTA. If you have the Sensar III, it can benefit from the addition of the wingman attachment.

X2. The Sensar is the best there is.

The King Jack is what we have on our new Georgetown motorhome and it works way better than any batwing I have had.

I had a crank up Sensar with the Wingman attachment on my Wildcat. The Wingman was great at pulling in channels but, due to the antenna placement on the roof, it hung over the side about 6" when retracted for travel. It finally got snagged on a low branch and the Wingman was forcibly removed. The antenna wasn't the same without the Wingman.
I replaced the Sensar head with a Jack antenna head and it works about the same as the Sensar+Wingman combo but it's half the size. The install took 2 min since it just replaces the head and keeps the Sensar crank up mechanism.

Our RV came with the Sensar III. After about 3 months of use I installed the wingman. The Wingman made a huge difference, still using the combo today with no plans on replacing it.

I have been looking at the king jack as it looks like the only one that would cover up the hole it would leave inside on my roof. How was the install?

I didn't install it, it came that way from the factory but from what I have seen in the manual it looks pretty simple.

Well thanks for the info. Was looking at the 8200 model so I don't have to raise or lower- been know to forget a few things from time to time or during a hurry up pack up. Saw a few omni directional units but would still be left with the hole in roof inside. Today we are 25 miles from the tv towers and can barely get one station. Just mostly looking for a local news station for when the zombies attack!

I am a regular at a CG that is about 25 miles from home. I get mixed results with the FR supplied antenna and have tried two $40 plus OTA/Digital ones. Nothing worked.

A fellow next to me had this outdoor setup that sat on top of 3' tripod, It was awesome. A bit of a setup but I need my news in the am while DW is in the land of sleep. He rotated it for me and pulled in stations from far away cities.

I just now looked it up and it is under $40. Might this work for you?

That is a great price for that. Might be an option. Did he take it apart each time to travel?

The antenna box comes off the tripod and he sets on an a bed for travel. The tripod is alum and when folded was the size of a big baseball bat and very light.

What impressed me was the remote for the directional pointing. He pointed it in different directions and picked up stations from that were a 100(give or take) miles away. I was impressed. Since my last post about it, I ordered it at that price. It was going for $70+. I will find a tripod somewhere.

Before you go throw money on this wait until March when I get back out to use the one I ordered. I will post a win/lose evaluation of it.
