Tore out the outside kitchen counter top and put in corian. Got damaged from refrigerator defrosting in travel. Now the refrigerator door can open all the way without hitting the outside kitchen door!

Nice job!. We are looking at a a outdoor kitchen in our upgraded Fifth Wheel. I was thinking of running the outside fridge on a invertor while travelling. No need for mega size batteries, run off charge lead from the truck.

Thanks guys.... Funny part to the story is there's a guy at our little "home" campground that works for a company that does millwork (cabinetry) for a few of the jobs I work on, including the one I'm on now. I asked him to check at work to see if they had a remnant of solid surface that I could buy, that would make the counter top. He asked, and told me to check elsewhere, they "wanted too much". So, I went to work, asked the GC's superintendent to see if there was any counter tops laying (was willing to settle for laminate) around that had come in wrong, that I could cut it out of. I told him what it was for, and that I really wanted something solid surface, to prevent having the problem again, and asked him to ask his vendor if he had any remnants laying around. The vendor sent it to the job site, with a tube of the adhesive, the same day. The guys on site cut it, and bonded a strip to the front edge (to double the thickness to make it look counter top thick), and I cut the sink hole. I was gonna do a stainless sink, but had a "brain fart", and squared off 2 of the cutout corners, instead of rounding them off, so decided to stay with the stock sink. I could've pulled it off, but I think the stock sink actually looks better with the Corian. Thought about doing a bar faucet, but like the quick connect hose option, plus I have the paper plate holder over the sink. Nice "free" mod!

That outside/dorm fridge looses its cool *really* quick. I'm thinking more and more about this inverter idea for it. The biggest hassle would be running the electric line back to it- especially in my case since it is in a slide.

How much amperage does one if those little fridges use? Seems like it'd be very low

Mine typically holds temperature fairly well. The damage happened because it was at the dealer before the last trip, and they were supposed to keep it plugged in, and apparently their breaker tripped or it got unplugged, and I wasn't aware before hitting the road for 4+ hours. Here's the sticker on the back of my refrigerator. I've flirted with doing an inverter.... just haven't decided to dive into it.

I know this is a really old post but I had this same problem with one of my basement doors being able to be pulled open even when locked. I tried the o-ring fix and it didn't help.

What I finally did was take a square latch plate from a regular door, drilled some holes in it so I could line it up with the existing screws, and put it right on top the existing latch catches. It works perfect.

I didn't take any pics, but the latch plate looks something like this:



The one I used was a little longer and had more room past the existing holes.

Dang, its been over a year since anyone posted in here. Just went and winterized our sabre last weekend. I plan on using it some this winter and i wanted to speed up the winterization process for the future. (I forgot to take pics of my mod though)
Anyways, i cut a square flap in my cloriplast just in front of the wheels on the door side and found the water lines.
I then installed 1/4 turn ball valve shark bites on the lines just rearward of the kitchen sink t's.
This way after i winterized, i just shut the valves and now we can use the front water lines and winterize just them.
I believe last summer i deleted the house water filter since we just use the blue torpedo filter anyways. This also helps speed up my winterization!

Heres test hitching the camper to make sure the hitch is setup right for this truck. Probably taking it to a buddy place in a couple weeks.

Im going to have to do an outside kitchen counter top mod too. My counter is swelling right in front of the sink a little and behind it was delaminating slightly when i was defrosting the fridge and it leaked out some water.
I think i will use fiberglass and gelcoat and just make a counter top, but i might order some carbon fiber and really trick it out!

Ok, so mods to my 36QBOK.

I replaced a wood panel in the bunkhouse with a metal mesh. There are water lines to the outdoor kitchen that have leaked. The cold and hot happened back to back in cool-cold weather last January. I'm hopeful that this let's warm air from the room to them and keeps them from freezing.

We replaced the glass in the cabinet doors above the TV. We are Disney freaks and have quite a pin collection. It used to reside on a pin board that we sit on the top of the big slide in that room. But it was something we had to move every time we moved.



We plan on replacing the glass out of the doors above the couch. We won't do pin boards, but we'll take similar metal and paint it.

Added support/lift arms and a hinge to the bed in order to get access to a little more storage for off-season clothes.



I'm pretty happy with how this turned out.

Added a 1/2" layer of plywood to the lower bunk so that it didn't creak and scare me so much. I was afraid that we were going to put a foot thru the thin luan that was there before.

We are thinking of painting some roads for my son's Hot Wheels on it. Not sure yet.
