Ok, First off I tried the search function here as well as other forums and Google. Didn't find the answer (at least I don't think so.) and I don't want to screw up my new trailer.
So I bought a new thermostat in the form of a Honeywell RTH2300B.
Here are the connections on the inside of the Honeywell
Here are the wires that come out of the wall and in to the current thermostat
And
My first question I guess is......will this new thermostat even work? It is ran by batteries. But the connections on the Honeywell are different than all the diagrams I have seen i.e. Hunter.
If anyone has any answers I would greatly appreciate it. Sorry for yet another thermostat question.
Hook it up and test it then. Biggest worry will be something does not work. Write down what you tried and if it does not work correctly reverse the wires.
I think I may have it figured out. According to the Airxcel website it states
Red wire is for 12VDC-- Which can be taped off
Blue wire is for (-) 12VDC-- Which can be taped off right?
Yellow wire is for A/C compressor- Which should go to the Y on thermostat
Green wire is for high fan setting on A/C- Which should go to the G on thermostat if all I want is high fan
Grey wire is for low fan setting- Which should go to the G on thermostat if all I want is low fan
White wire is for the furnace- Which should go to the W on the thermostat
Does this sound/look right? My original thermostat had 6 wires going to it. The new one would only have 3 unless I wanted to put in the extra switch for Hi/Low? Or would both the green and grey have to be connected to the G on the thermostat? I assume that the furnace and the A/C have separate fans.
Found it and this works great. Just make sure if you add the high/low fan switch, you get the smallest one at Radio Shack and solder about 8" of wire to the terminals before installing the switch. Highly recommend adding the high/low switch. We turn it on high to cool the camper quicker and then on low to reduce the noise level.
If I remember right when I did it, red (DC+) goes to R-RH.
You need to supply power to the other points (Y, G and W)
It won't work with just three wires.

Thanks everyone, I got it figured out. The heat works and will make sure the A/C works this weekend while were at the campground.
Nice! Be sure to put up a post with the model number and pin outs of your thermostat and what wires went where (pictures are best) so that if someone else decides to do your mod they won't have to re-invent the wheel...

As soon as I get a chance to test the A/C operation this weekend, I will certainly post a picture and diagram of what I did. Thanks again for all your help sir!
As above, you do not want to run the A/C on low fan speed. It can freeze up. Need to have high speed fan for A/C. Should add the hi/lo fan speed switch.
wagon52,
Hope your weekend trip was great and your new thermostat worked perfectly. If you did have any issues with the AC side of it, then try this old thread reference the Hunter and the dual speed switch. Happy camping.
Thank you all! Had a great first time out in the new TT! Before we left I scrapped the Honeywell out for a Hunter thermostat. The Honeywell did not seem to regulate the temp the way I wanted. So the Hunter was installed and worked great! Somehow I have the switch for the fan wired wrong and have only one speed, but that can be fixed.
