Timbrens Advice please

I did a search on here, but mostly comparisons between these and airbags.
I am not interested in Airbags, however i would like to know if anyone has installed the Timbrens on a 1 ton with duals. Tuck is a '14 Ram 3500 DRW, 8ft box 4X4. (I do not receive the trailer until mid Sept.)

Any improvement in ride when towing? Are they necessary? Did your rear sag without them?

My 5ver is 12000lbs dry weight, pin weight around 2000 lbs.

Thanks....

The payload on that truck should be so high that I can't see any sense in adding anything to it.

We run the air lift version called air cells in 7 trucks with dump inserts. They are nice because there is no mechanical parts like the air bags. I doubt you will need anything for that truck, our 1 ton dually with 3300lb pin wt rode level and sweet. My personal work truck i have air bags with auto level, it sits and rides the same wether I am empty, have 4500lbs of lumber or have either trailer hooked up. Headlight aim is never an issue, the front end allignment isnt affected by the squat so tires last longer and handling is better

I installed the tibrens on my f250 and they work great. They only come in play when there is a load

I cant imagine a 3500 DRW needing timbrens....no way that trlr with a 2000 pin weight(which seems low btw...2500 would seem more in line) should bottom out your suspension where timbrens would even come into play. even if your pinweight is underestimated by 500 lbs...that is still nothing for that trucks payload...i think you would be wasting time and money adding them.

Thank-you all for the input. I have to agree, I think I will just leave well enough alone for the time being.

We are going to Arizona again for the winter,, so the run down there will tell me if I need any additions to the suspension.

We live in Canada, so needless to say, we get screwed, chewed and tattooed on prices (eg. local shop wants $750.00 for two airbags installed, no compressor, just manual set up !!)......So, if I find I need to boost the suspension, I will be dropping the bucks (at a much lower cost) in the US of A .

Again, thanks much for the input.

True but the suspension still compresses some. The Tibrens take the load off the suspension when the compression occurs. They are adjustable for them the come in to play with more or less compression with the shims.

The suspension on a 3500 truck probably wont compress enough with his tongue/pin weight for the Timbrens to even come in to play.
