Tire Choice? Maxxis or Marathon's?

I just priced Maxxis and Marathon's with Tire Rack for my Wildwood. They were the same price. My question is which one would you all vote for??

I just yesterday replaced all the CRT tires with Goodyear marathon's. I have to wait until FROG in Branson to put any true miles on them, it should make a world of difference.

I have Maxxis on mine now because the Marathons were made in China when I bought mine but I think they've moved the mfg back to the U.S. so either would be good. Check with Tire Rack and make sure though.

What difference would that make? Safety should be # 1 concern.

Avoid any tire made in China. there are literally hundreds of posts reporting problems with Chinese ST tires.

the biggest camper tire failures were back around 2000/2001..........Carlisle made by Goodyear of all things unexpected.............worst part was neither the tire people....Forest River......or the feds notified anyone of the hundreds of tire failures BUT Goodyear did make good on repairs and tire replacements..........shame American made tires blew like Chinese

I'm surprised the Chineese tire rant hasn't started yet . . . oops, I see it HAS started . . .

I have Marathons on my Surveyor. They have about 20,000 totally trouble free miles on them and are going strong. They've been in all day 90 degree tows; on nasty rocky national forest service roads. Totally happy with them. Flawless.

By the way, check out the Kumho 857s. I might get these next time because of the D load rating and the 99 mph speed rating. They're 14 inch only though I think.

Some Maxxis tires are made in China as well, and they seem to be very good. So don't listen to the Chinese tire bashers, the brand is more important.
