Today was a good day for Mods
We got our 2013 30WFKSS V Lite last October in Iowa and spent 3 days camping on the way home to South Dakota. Now we hope to tow it to Texas to visit the grandkids in April for its first real outing of the camping season. You can't go through the forums with out coming up with good ideas and since it was a balmy 60 degrees out side today I did a few of my own.
Replaced the manual jack with a Husky 4500 which required me to remove the battery box to get the jack to seat properly. Since I had the box off I decided to add a 2nd battery box in anticipation of 2 6 volt batteries sometime down the road. Next up...add some stabilizer bars to the stabilizing jacks.

Very nice job on the box mounts. That is what make these forums so great is all the people and the thinking outside the box that makes these things a reality.

Very nicely done! Without seeming overly critical, and maybe you're not done yet, but may I add a suggestion? The plate that you are using for your batteries appears a little thin for having most of a battery hanging over the edge of the rail. Adding an angular brace down to the frame would help support that outer edge more.

Yes the bracket is 1/8" x 1-1/2". I was using what I had on hand and thought it would be to light, but it is surprisingly sturdy. It took more time to lay out the angles then to weld it so I can use 1/4 by 1-1/2 and use the old one for a pattern if I have problems with it.
One other mod I think I saw here originally. I added a spring to the propane tank hold down so it doesn't drop down when changing tanks.

Rick,can you put the Chevy tailgate down while hooked up? If not turn the motor too the side or rear. Also might drll drain holes in batt.boxs. I was tricked on both myself.  Youroo!!

Yes, I will have to check the tailgate clearance but I believe it will clear. I had the same problem when I put an electric jack on an old airstream. That jack was easy to adjust--two or three set screws and rotate motor 90 degrees. I did check the Husky before I installed it and will not be able to do it that way. If necessary I will have to drill and tap new holes in the hitch--hopefully there will be no clearance issues, and yes I did drill drain holes in the boxes--good suggestion.

No problem with tail gate/jack clearance, whew.  Also put on one of the the stabilizers today. Five more to go next time the weather and time off coincide.
