Tongue Jack Upgrade - What would you buy?

So I'm 4th and inches from pulling the trigger on a tongue jack upgrade. My FIC 3500 pound jack is already acting up (sometimes it works, sometimes it makes me wait, sometimes it does both). As I see the MSRP on this jack is $99 and I can't even get the correct owner's manual straight from FIC, I don't think I'm going too far out on a limb here in saying its likely a piece of garbage.

So I want to put something reliable on the front of the trailer. My thoughts are the Barker VIP3500 (I can't see spending north of 400 bucks to get the Hi-Power ball screw version - can anybody else?), Husky Super Brute 4000, or the Bulldog/Reese 4000.

I like that the Barker is supposedly made here in the US and customer service seems to be top notch from what I've read. 2 year warranty.

Lots of people seem to like the Husky, but its made in China. It does however have the ball screw design, and also the 2 year warranty.

The Bulldog/Reese doesn't have the ball screw design. I can't figure out where its made, and I can't find many people discussing their customer service experiences. The jack carries a 5 year warranty - maybe that's why I can't find any customer service stories.

Pricing goes from least to most Husky, Bulldog, Barker.

What say you guys?

Oh - lifting ~900-950 pounds of tongue and the back of my F150 (for the bars).

I went with the Husky Brute 4000. Bit of overkill but I wanted to make sure it would work fully. Lifts my Roo 23SS easily and my Armada for the sway bars.

I have the Bulldog 4000lb. Used it on first trailer and moved it when I bought another trailer. 11 years old and still works fine. Husky is highly rated as well.

I've had mine for two years. Added a battery disconnect as well to prevent it from being used when parked. I live the use of it. So simple, my wife can use it and with a remote.

Regarding the Husky, its interesting that they put a limited 2 year warranty in the product description but the actual warranty portion of the instructions only calls out a 1 year.

We added a Husky for our R-Pod - I liked the ball/screw design - never a bit of trouble, worked well. Our mini lite came with an electric jack which still works, so . . .

I bought a Husky HB4500 earlier this year and it works great. The only upgrade I would like is the "stay on" feature so I could multitask while running it.

Interesting tidbit - I reached out to Bulldog, Husky, and Barker w/ a pre-sales question. I did that first thing this morning - so far only Bulldog has responded. Funny - the one I knew nothing about by way of customer service was the first one to answer.

I've had a Barker and went to a Husky. Husky never failed me and had lots of lift power with my 30' TT. I liked that the Husky stopped at its limit without the override clicking. Also I never had to replace the on/off switch like on the Barker or clean or lube the gears. Buy Husky - it is worth it.

Upgraded to Husky 4500. Lifts trailer and GMC 2500 with ease to set the Equal-i-zer bars. Highly recommend.

I bought a Husky 3500 for my old TT and it worked great for the 3 years that I still owned the trailer. I bought my current TT 2 years ago and gave the Husky to my SIL. It's still working great for him. The Lippert jack that came on my TT failed this weekend. I ordered a Husky 4500 last night to replace it.

The Husky is a much better jack than the Lippert. Because of the situation when I sold my old TT and took delivery of my new one I couldn't keep the Husky and give the Lippert to my SIL which I had originally wanted to do.

I would also check the stroke distance. I ended up having to get a new tongue jack due to operator error. I got one with a 6" longer stroke, so much easier to take the WD bars off, especially when I am not straight with the trailer.

I put a Husky HB4500 on my Roo and TT. Very reliable.

I ended up ordering a Husky Super Brute 4000. I went w/ the Super Brute for the 2 year warranty. My original email to Husky had a typo - once I corrected and re-sent I got responses back from them within 15 minutes of sending - so that made me feel good about their customer service.

Its a 500 pound upgrade over the garbage FIC jack that Rockwood put on too.

Glad to see some of these responses because I just ordered a Husky HB4500 yesterday.

The factory 3,500 lb jack that came on our 2020 Mini Lite just about stalls trying to unload the rear springs a little on our 2500HD.

Also really looking forward to the auto limit stop feature on the new jack.

I was originally planning to order a Super Brute but the motor case protrudes pretty far forward from the center line and I was worried about tailgate interference. The standard Brute appears to be much more compact on the front side.

The super brute has a remote control which seems pretty unnecessary.

The SB 5000 has the remote, as does the standard Brute 4500.

The others do not.
