dunnnce, that last picture of yours is very interesting.
Where the pivot plate is, you can see daylight through the whole back half, so all of the pin weight is on a small area at the front of the plate. That has got to create some extreme wear issues, and demonstrates the very high forces on that system. I take it that there is a wear disc in there? I imagine you will be changing that quite often, otherwise it could get real sloppy in a hurry.
I know that this is supposed to be the cat's meow for those who don't want a slider, but it looks pretty darn scary to me.

Oh, I am sure it was engineered very well, but I wonder about the practicality of it, that is all. I just don't like the look of that big gap between the plates, as I know what is causing it, sheer force.
I am kind of fussy, and it is all just a personal choice. You have a right to yours as well.

Now to make a matching alum reinforcement for the passenger side to match the driver side, paint the alum pcs and GO CAMPING!

Got the gas struts installed on the modified cover. Now to pickup all the tools, etc used to modify the cover. That is a bigger job than modifying the cover. somebody come help!http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...albums609.html
