Torn up scissor-type stabilizer jack… my research

Being fairly new to RVing I was a little surprised how common torn up scissor-type stabilizer jacks are. I assumed it was something only I managed to accomplish. I will admit I noticed how low the scissor-type stabilizer jacks hung from the bottom of the frame but I thought; "will never hit them!" Well, managed to destroy one.

As I was searching on Camping World to get ideas, I stumbled across "saveajack" These are a kit that convert scissor-type stabilizer jacks to be easily removed and reinstalled. Just a quick update; My kits arrived and man are they nice! There is more metal in their construction than in the frame of my Surveyor! The mounting holes seem to be darn near universal, found an alignment on my CampingWorld cheap-o replacement jack without drama or need for additional holes. Wicked nice! Can't wait to "convert" the three remaining corners! :-)

I had our hauler destroy 2 of my factory jacks by putting the set up on a massive 3 inch by 2 inch block at the tongue, cranking the 4 corner stabilizers to the max and that was 3 days after the Sept hurricane went through last year

MilCop; what I'd recommend in the future for you is use a 4x4 wooden block under your jacks so as to not have them extended almost to the max length. This will give you more satbilization under the trl and less stress on the jacks. This is from looking at your pics with the jacks at about 90% extension.

Thats the way the delivery guy had them set up and we didn't notice it until the next morning when the better half was in the kitchen and the trailer literally hopped off the massive block in the first picture and twisted the front jack passanger side and rear jack on the driver side also seen. Since then I use proper blocking. the driver said "oh sorry - but their only a 120 to replace don't worry about it...."

Those look like a nice addition to any unit with scissor jacks.

Looks like a good solution if you can't move the jacks closer to the axles. Only disadvantage I can see is now you have to find a place to store the jacks. That alone would make me lean toward relocating the jacks. JMO
