Towel Rack
Need to put a towel rack in the bathroom - but I am anxious about putting screws in the walls. I have the aluminum studs so "finding a stud" like you do in a home is not an option. What about the interior walls vs. exterior walls? Screw length, etc.? Any comments appreciated!

We just hung an over-the-door rack on both sides of the bathroom door.......1 for the bathroom towels, and 1 for the kitchen towels and hot mats.......works great.

I went to Home Depot, in the closet solutions and storage section they have Closet Maid shelving, I bought the 12" shelving and the option for a clothes hanger rod, they have all sorts of options and mounting solutions, I hung two shelves above the toilet and the clothes hanger rod on the bottom shelf, I use the shelving to store all the clean towells, and any moist towell I can hang on the clothes hanger rod. Typically the racks have a lip that hangs down on the front, it provides strength for the span of the shelving, I mounted it upside down (lip up) and it keeps anything from slipping off the shelving, works great, provides storage and a towell rack for drying

x5 Have used over-the-door towell racks from the beginning. I also have a free-standing folding towell rack that we use outside or inside.

Same .....
We have "trailer towels" that we leave in the unit all the time.
We put individual clean/dry towels in small "spacebags" (vacuum pack/seal) and have them hanging packaged from the 3M adhesive hooks on the bathroom wall to save room. Then we have an over the door rack to hang the towels we are currently using or wet stuff that we don't put outside on the retractable clothes line.
We can store 5 bath towels, 5 hand towels and 3 beach towels on the inside bathroom wall, without using up any closet/shelf space (which is a godsend space saver in a 19' TT.
The towels take up a lot less space when they are vacuum packed, and will stay clean/dry/fresh indefinately in the bags.
Probably not the "prettiest" solution .... but we rarely get guest stopping by and asking to inspect our trailer bathroom ;-)

Thanks to all - we have the over the door deal going on as well. Just wanted one more in the bathroom (for like a hand towell only). Will check them out at HD/Lowes.

That's what we did and it turned out great. Just take it easy and don't strip out the screw hole. And I only used the inside walls, not the outside. I put one el cheapo rod on each end of the toilet room to hold 4 large towels. If a towel is damp the fan will help dry it faster.

If it's just a hand towel "ring" type of hangar then you can get away with installing them into the thin paneling. We did this above our sink in the bathroom. Ours also didn't have a TP holder so we installed one on the wall next to the toilet (exterior wall) using the plastic drywall anchors. Since the exterior walls have the thick styrofoam in them the anchors hold well. A small dab of Gorilla glue in the holes with the anchors will ensure that they can never pull out.

We bought a kit with Hand towel Ring, Bath towel bar, TP bar, and Robe hook. Installed them all on the interior walls of our bathroom and it makes a big difference.
I used sheetrock fasteners.

Towel Holder - Solid on thin wall -Butterfly bolts
Hope you can read this, it is a step by step install of a Towel Holder using "butterfly" bolts. I do not know their technical name, you drill a larger hole than you would like but they are solid. Just resolve to never removing the holder. They come with very long bolts, you have to cut them or use a shorter bolt, I recommend the 1/8th size, they will install any holder. After these wings spring inside the wall you pull the holder toward you and tighten the bolts. With four of these bolts installed your kids /grand-kids can swing on it.

Goop
I use this product to attach most everything to interior/ exterior walls and in shower unit. A real slick surface needs a little abrasion or the suction will fail. Nice part, if you want to move the rack, close hook basket, unseal and peal the goop off leaving no trace. This meathod has worked for me for over a year with the only failure being in the shower.....I neglected to scratch the surface of the wall and suction cups of a soap dish so they could get a good hold on the GOOP. Duct tape and GOOP, my friends.
