Trailer lifted (Rockwood 2701SS)

Due to the extreme rearward location of the rear stabilizers on our trailer, we had scraping issues getting it up our sloped driveway.

We wanted to have the trailer lifted, and that started with a call to Forest River. I learned that there is a lift kit for our torsion-axle trailer and that I would have to provide the axle product numbers. On our first trip in the new-to-us trailer I crawled underneath and found them.

I sent the axle PNs to the Forest River parts department and learned that I would need 3" lift kit # 10-FT-22. I ordered the kit and called a local truck and trailer suspension shop to set up the installation.

Here's the trailer after the lift.

At home... with over an inch of clearance at the steepest part of the driveway.

We're very pleased with the mod.

Thanks for the kind words, folks. Here's a closer view of the lift kit.

And while I do most of my own mods, this one was above and beyond my skills and comfort zone. I had it done by a local truck and trailer suspension shop.

Had same problem...

Yep, had the same issue with our '14 Flagstaff 27BESS. After scraping our driveway and such for a couple of years, I contacted my friendly service guy at our dealer. We had the 4" lift put on at the end of March this year. Unfortunately, we never got to use the TT. Within 2-3 weeks, we traded the Flagstaff for our current MH.
I quit taking DW to the dealer.... she always finds something different!

Funny you should mention that... this spring we were on our way to pick up the old TT from the storage lot right next to the dealer.

"Let's stop at the dealer for fun and see what they have in stock," she says.
"We're not going to buy anything," she says.

Of course, the trailer we found (and now own) pushed all the right buttons for both of us.

Plus, I get to start modding all over again!
