U-shaped Dinette hack

Everyone needs more table space. Cindy moved our counter extension piece behind theU-shaped Dinette table to make it larger.
We rarely use this extension so we might as well put it to use.
She positioned a box behind the table and sat the extension onto it.

Thanks Cindy!

Yes, we also had a desire for more table top space in the U shaped dinette. So what I did was order another countertop extension from Forest River through my dealer. I then used 3/4 copper pipe clamped to the extension that slides snugly into 1 inch CPVC pipe clamped to the table, so that the extension slides on to the regular dinette top. I can spin the table top around and slide the extension on, then rotate the table top back to the normal position. I intend to use the extension for longer stays, but remove it during travel.

Something else worth noting is that I determined that Forest River is installing the table base too far outward on late model Foresters and Sunseekers. I moved the table base 3” toward the wall so the table is now properly centered in the booth. You can see that looking at the table post base where it’s mounted to the floor in the first photo and comparing it to all the late model U dinette Forester/Sunseeker photos you’ll find. This had the added benefit of providing 3 more inches of walking space through the coach when the dinette slide is in. The old screw holes in the vinyl floor were self healing when heated with a heat gun, so they’re not visible any more.

we were like y'all, wanted more table top space, but we didn't have a counter extension to work with, ... the best I could come up with was to put a cap over the top, it extends to the middle seat back cushion and provides all the room we need for laptops, other stuff and still have room for eating and Sudoku books, ...
