update on LED strip install....

purchased the new LED strips and made sure i got the weatherproof strip. installed the wiring,and put the controller in a weatherproof box. thought that was enough. sadly,i didn't account for water tracing the connection which meant that it followed the wire thru the notch in the weatherproof box and...into into the controller. this weekend we tried to turn on the light strip,nothing....after examining all the components,i took apart the controller....toasted ! luckily,i can get a replacement for about $4.
now,to reconfigure my installation so water will stay out.

That sucks. I would try to keep the box above the strip a bit if possible, that water is less likely to run uphill.

I install the led lights also on my rockwood 8289ws
what I did was put the control box inside the trailer un solder the wire
used bell phone wire 6 ft to the led strip and 1 ft to the eye out side

(ps make sure you put the wire's on the right spot )
