Updated Sofa Mod
We have a Cadet SC 226RBDS and love the layout however the dinette only seating area for watching TV had to go. This is a redesign of the first sofa I made.
This is the way the unit came from the factory. It was functional but not too comfortable.
The dinette was removed and I made this custom sofa for the area.
The new sofa has 2 large draws for storage.
The narrow bottom center draw contains the base unit for the Sequoia table leg system. Hasps in the back fold out to lock the unit in place and rubber door stops are wedged under the front sides to make the unit rock solid.
The center top draw stores the table top and legs.
When needed a great dining area is created. We also have 4 folding bar stools under the bed and can be used to seat 4 to 6 around the table if needed.
A cavity behind the sofa was created to contain the 3 additional 25 X 25 cushions needed to make the bed.
The back cushions are placed in the cavity when the bed is made and the 25 X 25 cushions are used to make the bed.
The base unit took a while to build but the results were worth it.
Now on to the next project.

Wow! I'd trademark that design....quickly!
Mark my word, that design *will* show up as a factory option on some RV brand soon.

That's the coolest RV couch I've ever seen anybody make with their own 2 hands.
Congrats on a great build. You're very talented.

That looks great.
No criticism and honest questions -
1) Any idea of the weight of that? I wondered at first with a small trailer usually comes small cargo carrying capacities, but I see that your camper has a crap-ton of capacity ( 2,000+ pounds) so it isn't an issue.
2) Do you have any concerns with people stepping on the table base when it is extended? I guess with a couple's trailer, there is much less likelihood that a kid would end up trouncing on it but it something I wonder about.
Finally, that looks great. Really beautiful work!

That is awesome! A lot of forward thinking went into that project I see. I agree with Weezer, a manufacturer will probably snag that idea. Great Job

He has the rubber door stops that he wedges under the table base.

The guides are rated for 100 lbs and rest right on the frame. When extended the draw sits right on the floor. The door stops are just needed when the (kids) come over to make it really solid. Otherwise they would never be used.

2 people can easily pick it up. I'm guessing 150 lbs. I called the mfg. About the capacity of the slide out and it was 1200 lbs so he said I would have no problem.
And as I said above you can stand on the base with no problem. I designed that into it.

SO much smart thinking went in to this design. The more I look the more impressed I am! Example: the curvature of the end cushions.
Looks absolutely professional. Is cabinetry your profession? Word working hobby?
I'd absolutely LOVE to have this in our office here at the S&B. Yep, we also have a guest room but this in the office would allow for a place to just crash for a while, OR more sleeping area for grandchildren overnighters while DS and SIL take the guest room.

FTR, I snagged all 10 of those pictures. one of Sneak's hobbies is wood working (other one is... ....building custom golf clubs) and I've absolutely no doubt he could build this for our home office.
*I* could do the upholstery. We had a "family" MH years ago and I, along with a SIL, totally re upholstered everything in that MH.
The table could be a perfect place for the grand kids to doodle, do homework, laptops/ipads, etc.

That is a sweet setup Nice work! Lots of thought went into this design and I agree the manufacture will catch on soon.My wife and I were just talking about this on our last outing and we both knew the table set up would be the challenge. I would guess you must be a cabinet maker by trade or just love doing wood work? Nice job! We head out again in a couple weeks but when I get back i would like to pick your brain on the details of the mod if thats ok?

Ran a 5X 5 pvc sleeve accretion the back. Have a 15 foot rhino flex on the valve side and a 10 ft extension on the other. Works great.

No, not a little, I think you put alot of thought into it, you did an awesome job, you made great use of the space by putting in the storage draws.
